Super Mario Bros. Wonder features a hidden realm known as the Special World, which houses some of the most challenging levels in the game. Players can access this secret region through seven distinct portals scattered across the Flower Kingdom. Locating every entrance requires exploring secret exits, clearing specific challenges, and returning to key story locations after earning Royal Seeds.
Finding Early Entrances in Pipe-Rock Plateau and Fluff-Puff Peaks
The first gateway to the Special World is located within Pipe-Rock Plateau. To reach it, players must keep their Elephant power-up intact until the end of the Bulrush Express level and smash through the blocks on the right to discover a secret pipe. Completing the bonus stages along this newly revealed path unlocks the warp portal sitting at the top of the mountain.
Moving on to Fluff-Puff Peaks, the second entrance is found on the upper right side of the mountain path. Players must navigate past the standard climbing route and clear the Jump! Jump! Jump! level followed by its associated badge challenge. Once these trials are completed, a direct pathway opens up to the Special World portal right outside the Climb to the Beat stage.
Unlocking Portals in Shining Falls and Sunbaked Desert
Accessing the Special World from World 3, Shining Falls, is remarkably straightforward compared to other regions. Players simply need to clear the main storyline of the area and obtain its Royal Seed. Returning to the Royal Seed Mansion afterward triggers a short scene that opens the new path directly adjacent to the mansion.
In the Sunbaked Desert, the path to the portal requires both currency and keen observation. Players must pay 50 Flower Coins to a Poplin near the Palace to rebuild a bridge leading to the Secrets of Shova Mansion level. By breaking blocks and pushing a tall crate near the goal post in that stage, players uncover a secret exit that leads through a short series of courses ending at the portal.
Reaching Portals in Fungi Mines, Deep Magma Bog, and Petal Isles
World 5, Fungi Mines, mirrors the requirement seen in Shining Falls. After acquiring the Royal Seed for the region, players must replay the Operation Poplin Rescue mission. Completing this level a second time causes the rescued Poplins to open a shortcut straight to the Special World portal.
The portal in Deep Magma Bog demands significant progress, requiring players to collect 25 Wonder Seeds throughout the volcanic zone. Reaching the lowest layer unlocks a series of advanced badge challenges that ultimately lead to the portal. Finally, the Petal Isles portal is unlocked by completing the Spelunking Wiggler Race near the entrance to World 6, which connects the entire outer loop of the map and completes the set of all seven entrances.
